Student of the Year
This award recognizes an individual who consistently demonstrates enthusiastic participation and exceptional achievements, both academically and in extracurricular activities, especially high performance across all quadrants of the PSG Programme during their time at the university, as well as exemplifies core values and lionhearted characteristics of BUV’s students.
Eligibility:
✓ This award is open to one individual (All years at all levels; only for an active student who has not yet graduated when the award application period begins).
✓ The student must:
1/ Complete the PSG Programme with 3 requirements fulfilled (Accumulate a total minimum of 500 PSG points, Gain points in 4 quadrants of the programme; Complete one of the professional experience options & alternatives)
2/ Achieve PSG Platinum ranking: Accumulate a total minimum of 1200 PSG points across all quadrants of the PSG Programme.
3/ Attain a minimum GPA of 70/100
4/ Have a positive record with no instances of general misconduct (Student Code of Conduct) or academic misconduct and have not failed any modules.
Selection criteria: It is advantageous if the student demonstrates exceptional achievements while embodying our lionhearted philosophy:
✓ PSG High Achievement: Accumulated PSG points in diverse categories across all quadrants of the PSG Programme, and appeared on the list of the highest PSG Achievers demonstrating a holistic development of the individual.
✓ Academic Distinction: Maintained strong academic performance reflecting resilience and strategic thinking
✓ Recognition and External Impact: Achieved external prestigious prizes and awards, as it promotes the BUV’s brand and reputation through their accomplishments.
✓ Leadership and Influence: Demonstrated leadership skills within the university or community, which can include holding club and society presidential experience, taking initiative in projects, mentoring peers, or leading student organisations.
✓ Embodiment of Lionhearted Characteristics: embodied BUV’s lionhearted characteristics – being resilient in facing challenges, confident in expressing ideas and taking action, strategic in planning for future impact, caring toward the community, and leading by example; excelled in their role as an ambassador who authentically represents our university’s mission and values, articulating these principles through both words and actions.
Winner selection: 100% Judging Panel.
Award value: The award winner in this category will receive a commemorative plaque and a fully sponsored international study trip organised by BUV department(s), aligning with the university’s student development strategy and BUV’s student mobility and global engagement programme. The different options and specific dates of the trip and destinations will be determined by the organizing department’s schedule and communicated to the award winner (terms and conditions will be applied).
